Welcome
![]() Organic Matters was started about eleven years ago to help people to grow vegetables in their own gardens.
Initially to complement the vegetable gardening I discovered the wonderful world of willow. After doing a few workshops myself I was completely hooked on the most versatile skill of weaving with willow. I've kept the name as I feel it also applies to the new direction I have taken. I believe it is equally important for us to work with organic materials, not just eat organically. So the willow weaving has now taken over completely. I run workshops and courses in Nunney near Frome in Somerset. Private workshops can be arranged at a venue of your choice. I also work with schools and have done some really exciting sculpture projects and workshops, for more information click here. Come along and try it for yourself but be warned, working with willow is highly addictive! For more details visit the workshops page. Coming up......I believe there is an element of risk now in everything we do but it is up to us to decide what level of risk we are happy to take. I am able to take 3 people in the space available. I could potentially increase this to 4 if you are a private group. Of course if you would rather have 1:1 tuition then that is absolutely fine too. Workshops will start up again from the 26th of April. For more information and to register your interest and your specific requirements visit the Workshop bookings page

What others have to say.....
'I have spent two afternoons with Mary in her beautiful new workshop, a perfect setting with beautiful views of her lovely garden. Really light and airy with the doors open but look forward to a session in the colder days with her newly installed little wood burner glowing. Mary is very engaging and an excellent teacher, time fly's by, challenging but amazingly relaxing her knowledge of willow is fascinating. This week I made a garden support which I am so proud of. Mary said working with willow becomes addictive and I certainly agree, I can’t wait to get going again'.
